Getting fit in the park

There is definitely no shortage of parks in Croydon and they are great places to work out. Now, if you prefer a group exercise rather than a run around the park on your own, then check out the Our Parks website.

Our Parks is an initiative that is bringing free high quality fitness classes to areas all across the UK, including Croydon. All classes are delivered by fully qualified and registered coaches.  The classes are suitable for all levels of fitness but you do need to be over the age of 16 to take part. From Yoga classes at Park Hill Park to Bootcamps at Wandle Park, you will definitely find an activity that will help you tone up. All you have to do is Turn Up.

 

 

Lloyd Parkrun

 

A great way to start off any weekend is with a run around a park.

Every Saturday morning Lloyd Park host a 5 KM run. It’s an excellent way to stay fit and meet new people in the area. Each week it will be you against the clock and it’s free to join. All you have to do is register before your first run.

 

Oasis Yoga and Health

If you are looking to unwind, take a short stroll down High Street and you’ll find a yoga studio called Oasis Yoga and Health that offers you a place for relaxation and calmness in the heart of Croydon. The studio offers several styles of yoga and at different levels, so whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned Yogi, you’ll find a class that suits you.

 

 

Croydon Boxing Gym

If the idea of exercising while blowing off some steam appeals to you then Croydon Boxing Gym is an excellent option. The highly recommended gym is just a 4 minute walk from the doorstep of Leon House and the head coach is ex welter weight European and World champion, Ted Bami. If you would like to become a member they offer unlimited training for all boxing and boxercise classes from £20 a month.

 

Oxygen Free Jumping

 

Looking for a fitness class with a difference and you don’t mind a 10 minute drive, then look no further than Oxygen Free Jumping, where all fitness classes take place on trampolines. The 1-hour long sessions will incorporate elements of Circuits, Combat & HIIT fitness to test your cardio while you have loads of fun. You can either pay for 1 lesson at a time or you can purchase a 30-Day Fitness Pass. So get ready! It’s time to bounce.
